A fishing buddy of mine told me that the easiest way to catch more lunker bass is to use a thermometer. His reasoningwas that since bass are like humans they respond looking for shelter depending on the the heat and cold.

After doing some field research I found that a good water temp range for a large mouth is between 60 - 77 degrees while for a small mouth it is 58 - 71 degrees.

makes sense since they can detect a temp change of 1/100 of a degree
