Why would anyone use a clear crank bait or topwater lure for bass. Aren't these two types of bait difficult to see in the water?

They are difficult to see by bass and that is why you should sometimes use clear baits. The reason is that bass often feed on tiny minnows which are no larger than a 1/2 in long.

When you use a clear bait it is hard for bass to tell your lure from another bait fish since it is more difficult to see. If you decide to use these baits, I have had the best luck with Strike King Spit'n Kings.
